About this position
We are seeking an empathetic, forward-thinking, and results-oriented Change Management Practitioner to join the Innovation and Business Transformation (IBT) Division within the Technology and Transformation Department (TTD).
IBT helps the IDB explore opportunities, design user-centered solutions, and ensure their adoption. Within this mandate, the Change Management Practitioner focuses on enabling people and teams to successfully adopt new processes, systems, and cultural shifts—so that transformation efforts are understood, embraced, and sustained.
What you’ll do
- Apply Change Management Expertise
- Lead the use of change management methodologies to support successful adoption of transformation initiatives, new processes, and technology deployments.
- Shape and Guide Change Communications
- Define communication needs and narratives to support adoption (messaging, FAQs, talking points, change roadmaps).
- Partner with the Communications practice team in IBT on creative execution and channel distribution.
- Engage Stakeholders
- Identify and prioritize stakeholders at all levels.
- Build trust, secure buy-in, address resistance, and ensure sustained commitment.
- Drive Behavioral Change
- Assess behavioral shifts required for adoption.
- Design and implement interventions informed by behavioral science, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Facilitate Training & Engagement Activities
- Plan and deliver workshops, briefings, and town halls to support change initiatives.
- Reinforce new ways of working and build capability for ongoing adoption.
- Advise and Partner with Leadership
- Collaborate with IBT and TTD leaders to align change strategies with organizational priorities.
- Provide expert input on change implications of strategic initiatives, restructurings, and system rollouts.
- Measure and Improve Change Impact
- Define and track adoption and engagement metrics.
- Capture lessons learned and embed them into future strategies.
- Innovate and Evolve Practices
- Stay up to date on change management and behavioral science trends, as well as digital and AI-enabled tools that can enhance adoption.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen institutional change capacity.
- Deliver high-quality outputs independently, while aligning with IBT and institutional standards.
What you'll need
Education: Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Change Management, Communications, Organizational Change, Change Leadership, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in applying Change Management.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
Requirements
• Citizenship: National (Local Remote Staff) - You are a national of the country.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
• National (Local Remote Staff): National staff contract under a fully remote modality, 36 months. This contract is part of a program to hire staff to work fully remotely (not office-based). The program is set to expire at the end of 2028 and it may be extended, if successful.
