About this position
AUG is looking for a skilled, analytical, and proactive audit consultant to support the delivery of 2025 Risk Based Audit Plans (RBAPs).
As AUG Consultant, you will perform audit-related work in accordance with audit standards and AUG procedures, needed for the achievement of AUG vision and strategy while helping the completion of the IDB Invest RBAP by contributing to individual audit engagements covering governance and control environment, financial, human resources and information technology resources, as well as, IT governance, corporate, administration and risk management matters.
You will work with a strongly motivated, fast paced, innovative and high-quality team in AUG together with players in the rest of the IDB promoting the good governance and management of emerging and transformational solutions.
The consultant will work closely with the AUG Management, Lead Auditors and corresponding audit teams to discuss and contribute to the identification of relevant risk and controls. Perform research, analysis, testing and produce documentation as part of audit work programs, and contribute to report drafting and supporting communications and presentations included in the RBAP engagements.
What you’ll do
- Perform audit-related work (including ITGC and application controls) in accordance with audit standards and AUG procedures, needed for the completion of specific engagement to be assigned in due time.
- Support to the periodic risk assessment of the dimensions, segments and processes of the audit universe, as well as to the risk assessment, planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow up of individual audit engagements. This may include the analysis of the governance and control environment, the financial, human capital and information technology resources, as well as the IT governance, corporate, administration and risk management matters.
- Develop data analytics objectives and procedures for the assigned engagements; and support the data collection, validation, normalization, and analysis, as well as reporting and documentation of results.
- Conduct research and technical analysis of information to support audit teams with technical audit work, in accordance with timelines established by the audit leads.
- Apply technical concepts, methodologies, tools, and techniques to assist the audit teams on financial, administrative, budgetary, and/or operational activities of the IDB Group at Headquarters or in Country Offices necessary to appraise the effectiveness and adequacy of processes, management systems, controls and compliance with norms and procedures.
- Participate in the drafting of a variety of planning documents, including work programs, audit reports, as well as participating in client interviews, conducting risk assessments, and testing controls.
- Support AUG staff on specific matters related to the engagements, while sharing internal knowledge and practices with AUG staff.
As required, coordinate work with others within and beyond AUG to meet business objectives.
What you'll need
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Management Information Systems, or related fields such as Program Development, Monitoring, or Business Analysis, software engineering, computing science. Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are a plus.
Experience: At least 2 years of progressive professional experience in relevant business area within international financial institutions, multilateral development bank, external audit. Experience utilizing data analytics, continuous auditing, artificial intelligence, or similar techniques.
Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Work Location: If international, Headquarters (Washington, D.C), whereas if national 100% remotely from place of residence of selected candidate and services are expected to be provided from a country where the IDB Group has offices.
