About this position

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and agile Technical Project Senior Support Consultant. As the Technical Project Senior Support Consultant, you will work with the Productivity, Trade, and Innovation Sector (PTI).  

You will work in Trade and Investment Division and the Competitiveness, Technology, and Innovation (CTI) Division part of Productivity, Trade, and Innovation Sector. This team is responsible for providing funding, technical assistance, and knowledge products to support governments in key action areas such as firm-level innovation, entrepreneurship ecosystems, green innovations, digital transformation, creative economy, social innovations, and productive development.

What you’ll do

You will perform the below in addition to activities that would support the effective exection of the Bank's overall operations in the Country Office

  • Project Planning and Design through preparation of key project documents such as project abstracts, project profiles, project proposals, procurement plans, results matrices, budget, etc.
  • Participate in drafting and processing operational documents, etc.
  • Execution and monitoring of approved projects including preparing project management plans, meeting with consultants and stakeholders as necessary and maintaining close communication with supervisors.
  • Collect data to support reports, conduct periodic progress monitoring reports, and project completion reports
  • Manage the procurement of consultants and consulting firm in adherence with requisite IDB Policies
  • Perform statistical analysis utilizing STATA and advance Excel techniques to project technical inputs into research and program designs.
  • Provide support in the organization of seminars, conferences, trainings, webinsars, regional dialoes, and meetings.
  • Have knowledge of regulations and procedures of the Bank to effectively perform

What you'll need

•    Education: Master degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, international trade, development studies, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  Accredited Project Management training is highly desirable

•    Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in project management, in the public and/or private sector financed by multilateral development institutions or other external donors is preferred.  Knowledge of national procurement policies, norms or practices and experience in writing reports. 

•    Languages:  
        -    Proficiency in English and fluency in Spanishis an asset.

Requirements

•    Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Belize or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Belize.
 •   Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

•  Consultant:  
   National consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
