About this position

We are looking for a consultant to support the administrative management and knowledge generation of the cybersecurity team.

You will work within the Innovation for Citizen Services Division (ICS). The Division’s objective is to strengthen institutional capacity to improve public sector management, increase transparency and integrity, and enhance citizen security by applying innovative digital solutions. ICS works to strengthen government institutions and public management systems in order to deliver better services to citizens by closing the gap between formulated policies and their effective implementation. ICS is responsible for defining strategic actions, developing innovative solutions, implementing sector expertise at the regional level, and effectively leveraging relevant policy knowledge.

The selected candidate will join the Cybersecurity team, which is part of the Data and Digital Government cluster within ICS. This cluster supports digital transformation programs aimed at enhancing service quality for both citizens and businesses.

 

What you’ll do

  • Support knowledge exchange and technical assistance on cybersecurity in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as with reference countries outside the region such as Israel, Spain, and Korea, among others.
  • Support the execution of technical cooperations led by the cybersecurity team, particularly RG-T4010, RG-T4172, RG-T4452, RG-T4577 (https://www.iadb.org/en/project-search), among others, as well as the preparation and approval of future technical cooperations.
  • Assist in the hiring, execution, and monitoring of contracts, processing invoices, documentation, and reports related to cooperation projects.
  • Draft terms of reference for the hiring of consulting firms, individual consultants, and services.
  • Under the coordination of the cybersecurity team leader, organize missions and knowledge transfer events, as well as training for authorities from Latin America and the Caribbean, and other team missions.
  • Coordinate knowledge product processes. Support the design, generation, publication, and dissemination of knowledge products on best practices, policies, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Manage data organization and exchange with other team members, while following up on the editing, design, translation, and publication of knowledge products.
  • Develop communication materials: support in the design and production of presentations, documents, infographics, blog posts, content and graphics for social media, training materials, forms, and websites, ensuring alignment with institutional strategic objectives and adapting them to diverse audiences.
  • Conduct detailed review and follow-up of corrections in publications, knowledge products, and communication materials.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Public Administration, Public Policy, Communications, Editing, Translation, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or other related fields.
  • Experience: Between 2 and 4 years of professional experience, preferably in the areas of administration, knowledge generation and dissemination, and/or communications, in sectors such as public, academic, IT, international, and/or multilateral organizations. Proficiency in digital tools: advanced experience in the use of office digital tools. Knowledge of graphic design tools for images, presentations, documents, and communication products is desirable
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, both oral and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferred.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48 member countries, eligible to hold valid residency or legal permission to work without the need for IDB sponsorship.
  • Consanguinity: You do not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab. 

Type of contract and duration

  • Contract Type: National Consultant (local remote modality)
  • Duration: 12 months (extendable up to 36 months)
  • Work Location: 100% remotely from place of residence of selected candidate and services are expected to be provided from a country where the IDB Group has offices. If international, Headquarters (Onsite Washington, D.C), whereas if national 100% remotely from place of residence of selected candidate and services are expected to be provided from a country where the IDB Group has offices.
