About this position

We are looking for a team-oriented analytical and collaborative Treasury and Risk Senior Associate/Associate. As such, you will ensure accurate and timely settlements and contribute to risk mitigation and process improvement initiatives within the Treasury function for the Fixed Income and Derivatives products. This is an opportunity to enhance your expertise and gain exposure in International Banking, Capital Markets, Cash/Treasury Management, and project support in a multi-currency operation.

You will work in the Cash Management and Settlements Group (CMS/TRY) within Treasury part of the Finance department. This team is responsible for coordinating, managing, monitoring, executing, and servicing the daily operational activities related to Cash Management and Treasury Operations of the Bank, ensuring the timely and accurate forecasting, clearance, confirmation, and settlement of the Bank’s financial transactions; At the same time, CMS manages the Bank’s liquidity to secure that its’ obligations are met and fulfilled. In addition, CMS collaborates with internal and external partners to shape solutions and process improvements for initiatives that contribute to the optimization of the Bank’s financial resources and make sure that operations and activities are consistent with market standards and norms.

What you'll do

Custody Accounts Compliance and Reconciliations: Ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation of custody accounts across both local and international markets, managing multi-currency portfolios to maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Multi-Asset Trade Processing: Oversee the processing, confirming, and matching of multi-asset trades for both internal and external portfolios, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.

Trade Clearing and Custody of Securities: Manage the clearing and custodial functions for securities across internal and external portfolios, ensuring proper settlement and safe custody of assets.

Cash & Securities Management: Administer and monitor cash and securities positions to ensure optimal liquidity and compliance with operational guidelines. 

Debt Service Payments: Control and execute debt service payments in accordance with contractual obligations, ensuring timely and accurate processing. This includes swaps and bonds.

SWIFT-related Tasks: Handle SWIFT-related communications, ensuring the secure and efficient exchange of financial transactions and compliance with industry standards. Related to treasury operations.

Corporate Actions Supervision: Supervise and manage corporate actions, ensuring proper processing and timely reporting of all corporate events affecting portfolios.

Internal Reporting Administration: Oversee the preparation and administration of internal reports, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information to stakeholders.

Record Keeping and Internal Database Management: Maintain accurate records and manage internal databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Client Relationship Management: Foster and manage relationships with custodians, internal teams, and external clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and resolution of any issues or queries.

ITE Support for New Projects and Improvements: Provide support to the ITE department in the execution of new projects and system improvements, contributing to the continuous enhancement of operational processes and systems.

What you'll need

Education: Master's degree or equivalent with in Finance, Business Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. A candidate that has successfully completed the CFA Level I and/or the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification is desirable

Experience: Minimum of 5 years related experience with multi-currency, Capital Markets, Fixed Income Securities and Derivatives treasury operations experience. Experience with international markets, foreign exchange market, capital markets software, and international clearing systems preferred.

Languages:  Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required

Citizenship:  You are a citizen of Colombia.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

Type of contract and duration National (Local Remote Staff): National staff contract under a fully remote modality, 36 months. This contract is part of a program to hire staff to work fully remotely (not office-based). The program is set to expire at the end of 2028 and it may be extended, if successful.
