About this position

We are seeking a highly motivated professional with technical expertise in budget planning, monitoring, analysis, and execution, as well as hands-on experience with the Bank’s budget system (SAP). The selected candidate will contribute to the work of the Budget Team and provide effective support to internal clients. 

You will join the Budget and Corporate Procurement Division (BGT) within the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA), which is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s Administrative and Capital Budget activities. The Budget Team prepares budget-related documents, ensuring consistency and alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives, Management guidance, and directives from the Board of Executive Directors. The Team also advises on cost-efficiency opportunities; supports and provides technical guidance to organizational units on budget planning and execution; manages the Bank’s budget systems; and delivers training and support to the end user community on budget matters.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare budget-related analyses, reports, dashboards, and presentations for Management and the Board of Executive Directors.  
  • Provide budgetary analysis and technical advice to support effective resource planning, execution, and alignment with the Bank’s strategic priorities.  
  • Deliver end-to-end budget services to clients, including coordination and transactional support across all budget phases (formulation, execution, and evaluation).  
  • Support and train clients in the effective use of budgetary and financial systems, reports, and dashboards.  
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and dissemination of budget processes, tools, and dashboards, generating analytical insights to support decision-making.  
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and technical working groups, including support to the Division’s transition to SAP S/4HANA and other projects as required. 

What you'll need

Education: A master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 

Experience: At least five years of relevant professional experience in budget planning and monitoring, accounting, finance, auditing, or economics, with a focus on client support, analyzing budget information, drafting documents and reports, preparing presentations, and working with budget systems. Experience in a multilateral or bilateral development organization is a plus. 

Languages:  Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is required. Knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable. 

Systems: Solid experience in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and budget-related systems (SAP), Power BI desirable.

Type of contract and duration

•  International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).
