Potential Job Locations

The position may be based at any of our country offices or at our headquarters in Washington, DC, as IDB Invest operates in 26 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The specific location will be determined based on business need, allowing us to strategically align talent with organizational priorities.

We improve lives

IDB Invest is the private sector arm of the IDB Group and an international financial institution committed to addressing the development needs of Latin America and the Caribbean. Our mission is to support sustainable enterprises and projects that deliver financial results while maximizing social and environmental impact in the region.

IDB Invest operates in 26 countries, structured across four geographic regions and three industry verticals: Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Intermediaries, and Corporates.

In support of a new transformative business model “Originate to Share” our shareholders recently approved a $3.5 billion capitalization. This will allow IDB Invest to significantly scale up its investments, nearly doubling annual financing from approximately $8 billion to $19 billion, and unlocking greater private sector participation to drive development and climate impact across the region.

IDB Invest has reorganized its structure to implement this new business model, creating the Financial Solutions, Mobilization, and Asset Sharing (FSM) Department. This department will support the industries and regions department in structuring transactions, mobilizing assets for investors, and managing the equity business.

About this position

The FSM Department is establishing a Talent Pipeline of highly qualified banking professionals, Senior Associates and Officers to strengthen the Mobilization and Asset Sharing Division. This talent pool will enable the division to respond rapidly to emerging business needs and support growth initiatives with pre-vetted professionals.

Ideal candidates will possess robust financial and credit analysis skills, along with demonstrated expertise in short- and long-term credit and debt syndication.

The selected candidates will contribute to the origination, structuring, execution, and monitoring of innovative financial solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging diverse stakeholders.

• Build and maintain contacts and relationships with relevant banks and institutions covering the Latin American and Caribbean markets as well as with potential donors.

• Ensure products build maximum opportunity for third party finance mobilization for transactions across industries.

• Follow transactions in the loan syndications and capital markets in order to identify trends and impacts that could affect IDB Invest mobilization and transaction structures.

• Contribute to the management of IDB Invest’s portfolio of assets through secondary sales and the use of unfunded credit protection products.

• Prepare pricing analyses based on comparable transactions in the bank and capital markets.

• Prepare information memoranda, deal teasers, bank meeting presentations and documentation for allocated transactions.

• Work closely with the Mobilization team members to identify product needs that will serve to expand our investor base.
