About this position

IDB Lab is looking for a dynamic, results-oriented, and client-focused Financial & Data candidate to support financial planning and analysis, financial risk modeling, liquidity and capital planning, data analytics, and other corporate finance-related activities. The role requires strong financial and analytical skills, and proven experience with data management including the ability to integrate financial, operational, and portfolio data from multiple sources, support cloud-based FP&A and scenario modeling tools, and translate complex analysis into clear insights for management, operational teams, and donor-related discussions.

What you’ll do

• Lead and continuously improve IDB Lab’s FP&A framework by implementing and enhancing financial modeling, integrating data, and conducting sustainability analysis across products, funding sources, and business lines.
• Support the CFO in monitoring and implementing IDB Lab’s multisource funding model under MIF IV, including liquidity, capital, cash flow, stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and long-term sustainability projections.
• Lead financial analyses related to donor contributions, IDB net income transfers, capitalization options, and governance-related financial metrics, assessing implications under different funding assumptions.
• Integrate and manage financial data from multiple systems (SAP, Salesforce, databases, Excel inputs) to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
• Coordinate financial inputs and assumptions with IDB finance, operations, risk, legal, investment, and technical teams to support business reviews and strategic decisions.
• Produce high-quality financial presentations, dashboards, and reports for senior leadership, committees, donors, and other stakeholders.
• Provide support for audits, financial reporting, and corporate reviews.
• Contribute to FRP-wide corporate initiatives, including process automation, data governance, AI-enabled analytics, and financial systems improvements.

What you'll need

  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant progressive experience, preferably 5 years of professional experience, in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, financial risk management, banking, investment analysis, or related fields. Previous work with multilateral development financial institutions is a plus. Demonstrated experience working in or with markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, including familiarity with the region’s financial, economic, and investment dynamics.
    • Financial & Risk Analysis: Proven experience supporting financial risk analysis, portfolio risk monitoring, liquidity risk assessment, or enhancements to risk-related financial planning frameworks. Experience in capital planning or long-term financial sustainability analysis is desirable.
    • Data Analytics: Experience working with multiple financial and operational data sources, including SAP, Salesforce, Excel-based models, database connections, ODBC sources, or other enterprise systems. Knowledge of tools such as SQL, Power Query, Power BI, R, and advanced Excel is highly desirable. Experience or familiarity with cloud-based planning and analytics platforms, such as SAP Analytics Cloud or similar tools, is desirable as well.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.
