Operations Consultant Support (Intern)

We are looking for an innovative, results driven Operations Consultant Support Intern. As Consultant Support, you will gain hands-on experience supporting various activities in a data collection project.  

You will work along with the Country Economist and the Operations Team of the Bahamas Country Office in the data collection project for "Carving a Path Towards Impact: Key Factors for Effective Execution in the Bahamas. 

What you will do

Data Collection Activities:

  • Interviews and Focus Groups - assist in conducting interviews and focus groups, scheduling sessions, preparing interviews guides and taking notes during the discussions.

Data Management:

  • Data Entry and Cleaning - accurately enter collected data into databases or spreadsheets; clean data by identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies;
  • Data Organization and Storage - ensure data is well organized and securely stored. This includes creating a logical file structure, labeling datasets appropriately, and backing up data to prevent loss.

Data Analysis Support:

  • Preliminary Data Analysis - assist in conducting perliminary data analysis which may involve generating descriptive statistics, visualizing data, or identifying patterns and trends.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Drafting Reports - contribute to drafting reports and documentation for the project. This includes summarizing findings, creating charts and graphs, and ensuring the report is well-structured and coherent; 
  • Presentation Preparation - assist in preparing presentation materials. This includes slides, developing handouts, and rehearsing the presentation.

Administration and Logistical Support:

  • Meeting Coordination - assist in coordinating meetings; including scheduling, sending out invitations, and preparing meeting agends, taking meeting notes and following up on action items;
  • Project Documentation - ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and well organized. This includes maintaining recordings of meeting, correspondence, and project deliverables.

 

What you will need

•    Education: Active student at Undergraduate or Graduate level in Economics, Finance, Business Management, Data Science or Data Analytics, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  

•    Languages:  
    -    Proficiency in English
    -    Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is preferable.
   

Requirements

•    Citizenship:

      You are either a citizen of The Bahamas or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in The Bahamas.
•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
 

Type of contract and duration

•    Intern:
    -    National Consultant: National Consultant Full-Time, 2 months contract.
