About this position

We are looking for an analytical, organized, and collaborative professional to serve as a Strategic Resource Management Consultant. In this role, you will support the implementation of an IT Financial Management tool. Responsibilities include financial and resource planning, IT cost optimization, promotion of operational excellence, and the achievement and measurement of strategic objectives.

You will be part of the Strategic Resource Management Team within the Technology and Transformation Department (TTD). This team is responsible for resource management, capacity planning, financial planning, and implementation of key strategies such as Make-Buy and Sourcing, as well as driving operational excellence and reporting activities.

What you’ll do

Strategic Planning, Governance & Product Alignment:

• Assist in monitoring the implementation of product-level OKRs, ensuring alignment with institutional and business priorities.
• Collaborate with Product Teams to ensure consistency between Product operating methodologies, prioritization decisions, and budget allocation across RUN, GROW, and TRANSFORM initiatives.
• Support governance processes related to prioritization and funding decisions, ensuring consistency with approved budget frameworks.
• Prepare executive reports and dashboards on budget execution, investment performance, and cost transparency to support decision-making.
• Provide data-driven analysis to support senior management in investment prioritization and resource allocation decisions. 

Financial Management & ITFM Implementation:

• Support the implementation and adoption of the IT Financial Management (ITFM) tool to improve cost transparency, funding allocation, and financial decision-making across products.
• Assist in the preparation, allocation, and monitoring of Capital and Administrative budgets, providing relevant financial analysis and insights, including the preparation of investment proposals while ensuring integrity, consistency, and strategic alignment.
• Monitor the use of financial resources, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and tracking the value generated by investments.

What you'll need

•    Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Business Administration, Computer Science, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

•    Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in analytical and critical thinking, financial or cost management, leadership, effective communication, cost optimization, strategy development support, and technology-related competencies.

•    Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

•    Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.  Must be eligible to work in job location(s) without the need for sponsorship.

•    Consanguinity: you have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

Local Remote Consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility) rendered 100% remotely from place of residence of the selected candidate. Services are expected to be provided from a country where the IDB Group has offices.
