About this position

We are looking for an Operations Analyst to provide technical and project administrative support to the assigned sectors and areas of dialogue with the client, preparation of new projects, and implementation of existing projects. You will work as part of the Operations Team which has the main responsibility for the management of loan and TC portfolio of the country office. 

What you’ll do

  • Operations Design – Support teams in designing new technical cooperation and loan projects. Assist with sector studies, diagnostics, risk analysis, and fulfillment of conditions. Organize missions, meetings, surveys, and prepare terms of reference. Review and suggest improvements to project design.

  • Supervision and Evaluation – Help apply supervision tools such as execution plans, operating plans, procurement plans, and risk assessments. Monitor project progress, flag delays, update issues and actions, join field visits, and support review meetings.

  • Contractual Clauses – Track and manage contractual conditions in internal systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely fulfillment. Process related documentation.

  • Procurement – Review procurement documents for works, goods, consulting, and services. Ensure compliance with policies, consult with procurement specialists, and verify alignment with project budgets and plans.

  • Disbursement – Review disbursement requests for completeness and compliance. Validate submitted expenses against project conditions and agreements.

  • Project Completion – Assist with reviewing final reports and financial statements, follow up on audit recommendations, help prepare closure reports, and participate in project closure activities.

What you'll need

•    Education: Bachelor degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Business Administration, or other related fields: Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Education.

•    Experience: Minimum of two years of work experience in a related field 

•    Languages:  
    -    Proficiency in English and dutch is required.
 

Requirements

•    Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Suriname or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Suriname.

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

National consultant Full-Time, 12 months, extendable up to 36 months CNS lifetime.
