About this position

We are looking for a highly qualified, resourceful and dynamic professional. As Partnership Development consultant, you will lead the efforts to promote and engage European entities with the "BID for the Americas" Program. 

You will work in the Office in Europe part of the Global Partnerships Office. This team is responsible for strengthening alliances and mobilizing resources with the IDB Group's 16 European member countries, Israel, the European Union, and key European-based partners across the public, private, academic, and non-governmental sectors. 

What you’ll do

1. Promote and Engage European entities with the "BID for the Americas" Program in coordination with Productivity, Trade and Innovation Sector (PTI) 

    • Awareness Campaigns: Develop and manage marketing materials to showcase the benefits of the "BID for the Americas" program, specifically tailored for European companies interested in expanding into the Americas.
    • Networking Events: Plan and coordinate webinars, workshops, and networking events that connect European businesses with key stakeholders from Latin America and Caribbean (LAC), enhancing engagement and program visibility.
    • Partnership Development: Collaborate with European chambers of commerce, trade associations, and industry groups to promote the program, leveraging their networks to maximize outreach.

2. Identify and Pursue Strategic Partnership Opportunities

    • Actively identify and pursue potential partnerships with large foundations, family offices, and other strategic entities to support the IDB Group’s objectives in Europe.
    • Develop relationship-building strategies to engage high-level partners and facilitate collaboration on initiatives that align with the IDB Group’s goals for the Americas.

3. Drive Key Events and Outreach in Europe

    • Lead the preparation and execution of high-level events, workshops, and outreach activities to support the European Representative and REM team’s strategic objectives.
    • Coordinate partner engagement, including identifying potential partners, preparing key materials, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
    • Ensure alignment with strategic objectives, track outcomes of engagements, and maintain clear communication on progress and results to maximize impact and strengthen partnerships.

4. Liaison with Communications Team

    • Act as the primary liaison between EUR and the communications team based in Washington, D.C., ensuring smooth and effective communication.
    • Coordinate marketing and communications efforts to ensure consistency and alignment across all materials and initiatives, optimizing the impact of outreach activities.

What you'll need

•    Education: Master's degree in any of the following areas: Business Administration, Economics, Law, International Development, International Relations or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  

•    Experience: At least ten (10) of progressive experience in partnership development.   

•    Languages:  Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements

•    Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Spain or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Spain. 

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

•    Consultant: National consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
