About this position

We are looking for a proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented Gender and Diversity Operational and Analytical Consultant. As Gender and Diversity Operational and Analytical Consultant, you will contribute to operational, policy dialogue, knowledge, and resource mobilization work on gender and diversity issues in the Caribbean.

You will work in the Gender and Diversity Division (GDI), which is part of the Social Sector department (SCL). This team is responsible for promoting:

(a) gender equality and empowerment,

(b) development with the identity of Indigenous peoples, and

(c) inclusion of Afro-descendants, Persons with Disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Additionally, the GDI Division supports Bank operations, provides policy and strategic advice, and carries out technical assistance and training activities on gender and diversity

What you’ll do

  • Support the design, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of Technical Cooperation projects (TCs), particularly ensuring the achievement of activities and results.
  • Support the administrative management of TCs, including drafting terms of references, supporting contracting processes, tracking payments, and documenting financial transactions.
  • Support the preparation of annual TC reports and evaluations, including collecting information about execution of activities, key indicators, lessons learned, and financial progress.
  • Participate in technical meetings with counterparts and government agencies.
  • Provide input and recommendations for reports and deliverables prepared by external consultants.
  • Research and collect data on gender and/or diverse population groups gaps to inform gender and diversity mainstreaming in IDB projects.
  • Support the mainstreaming of gender and diversity in the design of Bank projects.
  • Support the monitoring, execution, and evaluation of IDB projects that are aligned with gender and diversity.
  • Participate in gender and diversity research projects/initiatives.
  • Support the preparation and dissemination of knowledge and learning products.
  • Support the coordination and implementation of events.

Carry out other activities according to the business needs of GDI

What you'll need

Education: Master’s degree in applied economics, public policy, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience working on gender issues, including gender-based violence, data management and analysis, inter-institutional coordination, and knowledge dissemination. Experience working in the Caribbean is required. Experience working on masculinity and/or one of the four diverse population groups prioritized by the IDB (LGBTQ+, Afro-descendants, Persons with Disabilities, and Indigenous People) is preferred. Experience working in multilateral organizations is desirable.

Languages: Proficiency in English. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.

Requirements

Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Trinidad and Tobago.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
