About this position
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Project Assistant Consultant who will help us change people’s lives in Latin America and the Caribbean by supporting the Institutional Capacity of the State Division (ICS) team in the preparation, processing, and execution of Bank operations (including loans, technical cooperation, ESWs, knowledge products, among others).
The position sits within the Institutional Capacity of the State Division, which strengthens public sector effectiveness improving regulatory frameworks, digital transformation, service delivery, and the strategic use of public resources while promoting transparency and accountability.The mission of ICS is to strengthen institutional capacity to improve public sector management, increase transparency and integrity, and apply innovative digital solutions. Currently the ICS portfolio comprises about 50 loans and around 130 technical assistance grants in execution.
What you’ll do
- Support the processing of Loan Operations, Technical Cooperations (TCs), and other operational products throughout their lifecycle.
- Draft, review, proofread, and process operational documents and required annexes, ensuring quality and compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
- Prepare and support the development of key project documentation, including Development Effectiveness Questionnaires, Results Matrices, Risk Matrices, Environmental and Social Strategies (ESS), and safeguard documentation.
- Coordinate and monitor operational calendars and milestones to ensure timely preparation, approval, execution, and closing of operations.
- Maintain and update operational, mission, and project information within the Bank's systems.
- Support project teams during missions and provide operational assistance throughout project preparation.
- Monitor the implementation and execution of Technical Cooperations, including lifecycle milestones and fund expiration.
- Process, monitor, and support the execution of other operational products, including Project Completion Reports (PCRs), Economic and Sector Work (ESW), and Country Infrastructure Programs (CIP).
- Publish approved operational documents on the Bank's external website in accordance with established policies.
- Provide operational coordination and follow-up to ensure compliance with institutional requirements and Project timelines.
What you'll need
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, international relations, social sciences, management, or related fields.
- Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in the following areas: project preparation, project execution, management reporting. Knowledge of Bank’s operational activities is desirable.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Type of contract and duration
- International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).
