About this position

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and innovative Records Management (RM) Consultant. As a Consultant, you will support the Records Management function within the IDB Group. You will work in the Records Management Group as part of the Budget and Administrative Services Department. This team is responsible for the Records Management program at the IDB Group, which encapsulates the establishment and monitoring of the governance framework, the management of digital and physical records, the delivery of RM support, including training to business units, the coordination of the RM function in the 29 country offices and the preservation and the valuation of IDB Group history.

What you’ll do

  1. Support the appraisal and destruction of eligible records in accordance with the Records Retention Schedules.
  2. Monitor RM performance to identify issues and coordinate the implementation of corrective measures in close collaboration with business units and operations project teams.
  3. Facilitate the RM function coordination in Country Offices by providing access to knowledge and organizing work and progress reviews.
  4. Provide support and training to IDB Group personnel on RM.
  5. Contribute to projects geared to improving RM solutions and to consolidate RM governance across the IDB Group.

What you'll need

•    Education: Master's (or equivalent advanced degree) in Records Management, Information Management, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  

•    Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional practical experience, preferably in an international organization or another multi-cultural environment. Knowledge of and experience with the concepts, principles, and practice of information, document, records, and archives management, including appraisal, disposal, and disclosure. Experience in project management, business analysis, process optimization, and change management. Experience in the delivery of training and support.

 •    Languages:  
     -    Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required.

Requirements

•    Citizenship:

    -    (IDB/IDB Lab - National) You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work.
  

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
 
•    If consultant (Local Remote Modality): The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank's office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank's Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space and for having the equipment, internet, and phone access to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank's office. Access to the Bank's systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.

Type of contract and duration

•    Consultant:  
        -    National Consultant (Local Remote Modality), 19 months (up to 36 months). 100% remotely from place of residence of selected candidate and services are expected to be provided from a country where the IDB Group has offices.
