About this position

We are looking for a looking for a vibrant, energetic, creative individual to provide Resource Planning and Administration support to the Resource Planning and Administrative Senior Specialist and the Admin team in the in the execution of their duties.
In this role the consultant will provide administrative and technical support to the Country Office in Suriname, in a wide range of work areas, spanning from Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Facilities Management and General Administration.

What you’ll do

  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes and assist with documentation for international staff in the Country Office.
  • Aid the RPA Analyst in contract initiation, personnel administration, and other HR-related duties in line with Bank policies.
  • Contribute to staff engagement activities, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and efforts to improve organizational climate.
  • Assist in the preparation and renewal of service provider contracts following procurement policies and procedures.
  • Support the procurement of goods and services and help manage facilities and office assets, including inventory and artwork.
  • Coordinate vehicle licensing, insurance, and servicing; track vehicle and driver assignments for official business.
  • Assist in processing vendor invoices in SAP, tracking payments, and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Provide support to vendors and manage petty cash documentation and reconciliation.
  • Deliver administrative and logistical support for internal/external meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Perform any other administrative, HR, procurement, or facilities-related duties as assigned by the RPA Analyst.

What you'll need

•    Education: Bachelor degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, International Development, Human Resource Management, social science, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  

•    Experience: At leas 2 years of progressive experience in personnel management, budget preparation and execution, accounting, and general administrative services. 

•    Languages:  
    -    Proficiency in English and Dutch is required
    -    Knowledge in Spanish and/or one of the other Bank official languages (French or Portuguese) would be an asset

Requirements

•    Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Suriname or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Suriname.

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

•   National consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
