About this position

We are looking for two (2) highly motivated, experienced, and detail-oriented professionals to join our Screening Team as Analysts. The selected candidates will support integrity due diligence processes and serve as key contributors to team development, cross-functional collaboration, and institutional capacity building. The role goes beyond technical execution and requires autonomy, leadership, and strategic coordination.

 

You will work in the Transaction Service Screening Team, which is part of IDB Invest’s Finance Department’s Operations Division.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct integrity due diligence on IDB Invest clients in accordance with IDB Group policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to collect relevant information and perform comprehensive background checks.
  • Utilize paid databases and open-source tools (e.g., Google) to identify potential integrity risks, including fraud, corruption, and litigation.
  • Apply legal and compliance criteria to assess and categorize identified risks based on severity.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with the Office of Institutional Integrity to address and clarify potential concerns.
  • Act as a senior reviewer (checker) for deliverables and analyses prepared by other team members, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with institutional standards.
  • Lead or actively contribute to mentoring processes, offering technical and professional guidance to junior colleagues and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating collaboration across departments and with other IDB Group units.
  • Serve as the team’s focal point for training and onboarding, organizing and/or delivering sessions on integrity, compliance, tools, and other relevant topics.
  • Support additional related tasks as required.

What you'll need

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field.

Experience: At least 4 years of progressive experience in compliance, Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), or related areas is highly desirable.

    • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
    • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Proven ability to take initiative, lead processes, and contribute to institutional development.


Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken; proficiency in Portuguese or French is a plus.

Requirements

Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Costa Rica or with residency or legal permit to work in Costa Rica. 


Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

National staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
