About this position

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical and proactive professional to work as Treasury & Risk Senior Associate in the Operations team within the Staff Retirement Plan (SRP) Department. As member of the team, you will together with other senior team members to perform accounting of investments, cash and investments reconciliations, performance calculation and reporting, trading and settlement implementation, compliance monitoring, operational and investment risk management, investment manager engagement and asset class analysis, reconciliation of plans’ contributions, expenses, and interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

The SRP department is responsible for administering the Pension Plans with assets under management of $7.9 billion, invested across 15 diverse asset classes, overseeing the payment of benefits under the Plans, managing the investment of assets, financial planning, carrying out the day-to-day administration of the Plans, and performing other functions outlined in the Plans’ regulations and/or delegated by the Managing Committees.

What you’ll do

  • Reconcile plan contributions, expenses, and portfolio transactions with accuracy and timeliness to ensure financial integrity and operational reliability.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, identifying and resolving discrepancies to safeguard the Plans' assets.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports to support informed decision-making by investment teams and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the negotiation and review of legal documents related to investments, ESG, and other operational activities including tax reclaims.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and disclosures for the Plans, ensuring alignment with regulatory and reporting standards.
  • Support the external audit process by providing accurate data, documentation, and explanations to auditors.
  • Perform operational due diligence on asset managers, including a thorough review of their SOC 1 reports, to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to the Plans' portfolios.
  • Design and automate reports and dashboards using Power BI and Power Automate, improving data accessibility and decision-making efficiency.
  • Assist with trade settlements, ensuring timely and accurate execution while resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate in the development of an ESG investment framework for the Plans, integrating environmental, social, and governance considerations into the investment process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance processes, streamline operations, and drive overall operational efficiency for the Plans.

What you'll need

  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Advanced certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience: At least three years of relevant professional experience in accounting, investment operations, treasury, financial reporting, or a related field.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required

Type of contract and duration

  • International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
