About this position

We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and team-oriented senior professional to work as a Loan and Corporate Account Senior Specialist/Specialist within the Accounting Division in the Finance Department. In this role, you will be a key member of our finance team responsible for managing the processes of corporate expenses, accounts payable (AP), and receivable (AR).

 

The Loan and Corporate Account Group (LCA) executes corporate and loan back-office processes. The Corporate Accounts team within LCA provides corporate services to the IADB that include processing, reporting, and providing technical guidance on accounts payable under the administrative and Capital Budget; processing and reporting accounts receivable; processing and auditing travel and expense reimbursements; and billings and collections of capital subscriptions of member countries and donor contributions to trust funds. The Loan Accounts team is responsible for the servicing the loan portfolio, executing billing and collections, enforcing the Bank regulations regarding arrears, and supporting the origination of private sector operations.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee and manage the accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Continuously monitor payment and receivable process workflows and related systems to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements.
  • Oversee and lead impactful initiatives related to administrative payments, technical cooperation disbursements, donor contributions, capital subscriptions.
  • Establish, maintain and oversee a framework for ongoing data quality assurance, including periodic reviews, validation processes, and preventive controls to minimize errors and ensure compliance across systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to AP and AR.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Lead difficult conversations on sensitive topics and build strong business relationships within and outside our department.

What you'll need

•    Education:Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting. CPA or similar accounting designation is strongly preferred.

•    Experience:

At least 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance in international public and/or private institutions.

      • Knowledge of SAP is highly desirable.
      • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining financial transaction systems is highly desirable.
      • Programming/Analytics: Knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, SAP, programming, MS Project, SQL, or other programming, analytics, and visualization systems is strongly desired.
      • Demonstrate ability to set clear and achievable goals, translate them into actionable plans, and empower others to achieve them. Demonstrate ability to adapt to changing circumstances, navigate challenges, and maintain composure under pressure.

•    Languages:  
    -    Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Type of contract and duration

•    Staff:
    -    International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
