About this position
The IDB Country Office in Trinidad and Tobago is looking for an active Graduate Student to be hired as a 2026 intern under the Consultant modality.
The COF/Offices Internship Program is a paid opportunity for university students from member countries to learn about development work and corporate management of the Bank, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job learning.
What you’ll do
- Assist the Operations Team with the planning and execution of public events such as, but not limited, to "Knowledge Week".
- Assist with at least two (2) projects to improve internal and external visitor experience (inclusive of the development of protocols for missions and meetings integrating digital applications, where possible).
- Support the design of quick graphics for events and slide visuals.
- Assist with reporting: compile inputs, draft sections of post-event report(s)
- Assist the Operations Team with Administrative Support
- Assist the Country Economist with preparation and execution of stakeholder consultations for the Country Strategy 2026-2030.
- Other activities as agreed with the internship supervisor.
What you'll need
- Education: An active graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related Social Science field at an accredited university. The expected graduation date must be on or after the last day of the internship.
- Languages: Be proficient in English and preferably with a working knowledge of Spanish, one of the Bank’s additional official languages.
- Soft Skills: Result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, strong communicator, self-motivated, critical thinking and judgement, eager to learn, creativity and excellent time management.
- Technical skills: Research skills, graphic/design capabilities, technical writing, Microsoft Office tools.
Requirements
- Citizenship: You are a citizen or a legal resident of Trinidad and Tobago
- Active student: Enrolled in a graduate (master's or Ph.D) program as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
- Consanguinity: Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
- First job at the IDB Group: Be a first-time participant in an Internship Program held by the Bank or Inter-American Investment Corporation (“Corporation” also known as “IDB Invest”). In addition, you have not been a former staff member, Complementary Workforce (“CW”), contractor for the Bank or the Corporation, or have previously provided services to the Bank or the Corporation through a contractor or under any other contractual modality.
