About this position
We are looking for a consultant to provide administrative support to the corporative team in the Front Office of the Andean Countries Department (CAN) and carry out managerial assistance and support functions for the Venezuela Country Office. As an administrative consultant you will report to the Resource Planning and Administration Advisor and will provide support on a variety of administrative tasks.
You will work in the corporative team of the Andean Countries Department (CAN).
The Andean Countries Department (CAN) is responsible for promoting and developing the Bank's strategies and programming in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. The department supports the process, negotiation and administration of specific country and regional projects and programs; leads and maintains IDB relations with these member countries; supports the execution of country-specific operations; promotes and coordinates the use of funds administered by the Bank or under parallel financing agreements; and monitors the procurement activities related to operations carried out by the Bank's borrowers and beneficiaries.
What you’ll do
-Actively fosters a culture of engagement and a positive work environment through the implementation of CAN initiatives focused on work-life balance, diversity and inclusion, thereby strengthening collaboration and teamwork.
-Provides administrative support for team-building activities, events, and other initiatives to enhance organizational cohesion.
-Support logistical arrangements for external and internal events, meetings, workshops, or any other activity, including the preparation of agendas, participant lists, systems requirements, budget management, and coordination with all involved parties.
-Assists in compiling content for the office internal communications, particularly in areas related to diversity and inclusion, events and engagement activities.
-Provide strong data management and Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, sorting, and data validation, to support data analysis and facilitate decision-making for the corporate front office team.
-Provide quality content of innovation and creativity to contribute ideas in projects of the CAN corporate sector.
-Carry out assistance and support in the development of diversity and inclusion plan as well as the engagement plan in the Department.
-Support the monitoring and execution of the Department’s training plan.
-For the Venezuela Country Office: Budget preparation and execution, including fund administration, process individual contracts for the complementary workforce, process the hiring process of consulting firms through procurement, service contracts, purchase of supplies, maintenance of inventory of furniture and equipment, and controls the execution of maintenance services.
What you'll need
Education: technical studies or associate degree in business administration, accounting, finance, human resources or equivalent.
Experience: two years of relevant professional experience in administration, accounting, human resources or equivalent.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

• Citizenship:

• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
• International consultant: Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
