About this position

The Health Nutrition and Population Division team is looking for administrative support to be part of a high performing team. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and a detail-oriented individual; have demonstrated ability to work in teams, be able to develop creative approaches to everyday administrative challenges and have the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, to multitask, and be well organized. It is expected that the consultant will be able to work independently.

The Health Nutrition and Population Division is tasked with the preparation and supervision of IDB operations in borrowing member countries in the areas of health (health capital investment strategies, health networks strengthening, health system financing, organization and performance, etc.) and nutrition.

The Social Sector is a multidisciplinary team convinced that investing in people is the way to improve lives and overcome the development challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean. Jointly with the countries in the region, the Social Sector formulates public policy solutions to reduce poverty and improve the delivery of education, work, social protection, and health services. The objective is to advance a more productive region, with equal opportunities for men and women, and greater inclusion of the most vulnerable groups.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate the planning and logistics for high-scale and impact events with counterparts, including travel arrangements for the team and external guests, ensuring all logistics comply with Bank standards and policies.
  • Support in the planning, execution, and follow-up of high-impact activities, maintaining effective communication with involved parties and tracking milestones to ensure success.
  • Verify progress across all phases of projects and contracts, from initiation to completion, by maintaining clear timelines, coordinating with involved parties, and resolving challenges as they arise.
  • Support firm contracting process thru Corporate Procurement in accordance with Bank Executed Operational Work and Bank Policies.
  • Administration of contract supporting documents in Bank systems.
  • Support invoice and payment processing, vendor updates, and technical cooperation tasks through the Client Master system.
  • Assist with contract management by reviewing terms of reference, ensuring compliance with Bank policies, and submitting through the Bank Contracting system.
  • Maintain weekly reports on contracts and payments.
  • Support with the processing of contract amendments.

What you'll need

  • Education: Associate’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in business administration or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in management of contracts, procurement, administrative matters and Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Type of contract and duration

International consultant Full-Time, 19 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).
