About this position
We are seeking a top-notch, highly motivated professional to join our team as a Bilingual Business Writer and Content Editor Consultant to position IDB Invest’s work and priorities across the region through storytelling.
In this role, you will support the communications team in developing editorial content for IDB Invest for its corporate blog, podcast, Impact Talks series, and Annual Report. Your responsibilities include writing and editing blogposts by IDB Invest experts, promoting blogposts on IDB Invest’s channels and pitching to media to republish. Additionally, you will coordinate production and write content for IDB Invest’s podcast and Impact Talks series. Further, you will be responsible for writing content and coordinating day-to-day tasks with IDB Invest experts.
You will be part of the Communications Division (DCC) within the External Affairs and Communications Department of the IDB, which manages brand reputation, corporate communications and media relations to help give visibility to stories of impact in the region. DCC works collaboratively with IDB, IDB Invest and IDB Lab.
IDB Invest is a multilateral development bank committed to promoting the economic development of its member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean through the private sector.
What you’ll do
- Write, edit and publish blogposts and opeds on IDB Invest’s blog (www.idbinvest.org/blog) in Spanish and English.
- Develop a strategy and content calendar to promote the blog and reach new audiences in the private sector.
- Develop multimedia content in coordination with third-party vendors (e.g., translators, graphic designer) to promote blog content on social media. This includes graphs, infographics and scripts for 2-min videos.
- Create a plan, coordinate with experts, and write content for IDB Invest’s podcast and Impact Talks series.
- Work with the communications teams to promote the podcast and Impact Talks series on IDB Invest channels and reach private sector audiences.
- Monitor and analyze performance indicators for IDB Invest’s blog, podcast and Impact Talks and present regular reports.
- Handle the writing and editing of IDB Invest’s Annual Report, coordinating with IDB Invest’s communications team.
What you'll need
- Education: Master’s degree in communications, journalism, or another related field. Candidates with a or Bachelor’s degree in the areas mentioned before will also be considered if the fulfill the experience requirements mentioned below.
- Experience: For candidates with a Master’s degree, a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required. In case of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 9 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree is required, in lieu of a Master's degree.
- Languages: Proficiency in writing in Spanish and English (bilingual).
Requirements
Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
