About this position
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail‑oriented, result-driven and client‑focused Corporate Procurement Associate or Senior Associate to support the delivery of corporate procurement services across the IDB Group. The role contributes to the effective application of procurement processes, integrating risk management and data analytics to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, while supporting the timely, transparent, and value‑for‑money use of institutional resources.
You will work in the Corporate Procurement Group, part of the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA) under the Vice Presidency for Finance and Administration. This team provides procurement and contracting services to Bank departments at Headquarters and Country Offices.
What you’ll do
- Conduct and support corporate procurement processes for goods and services, in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Prepare procurement documents, including requests for proposals, evaluation reports, and contractual documentation, under the guidance of senior staff.
- Participate in supplier analyses, including cost and non‑price evaluations, to support sound and well‑documented procurement decisions.
- Assess and manage risks regarding procurement activities including vendor and integrity risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Support contract management activities, including monitoring compliance with contractual terms and maintaining appropriate procurement records.
- Coordinate with internal clients to clarify requirements, timelines, and procurement processes, ensuring effective and efficient procurement services.
- Contribute to workload planning and process improvement initiatives within the Corporate Procurement Group.
- Support the systematic collection, quality assurance, analysis, and visualization of procurement data to enable evidence‑based decision‑making, enhance reporting and transparency, and drive continuous process improvement.
What you'll need
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, Law, Economics, Project Management, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Certified Procurement Manager (C.P.M.) and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management (C.P.S.M.) is a plus.
Experience:
- At least two (2) to three (3) years of relevant progressive experience in procurement, contract management, sourcing, negotiations, corporate services, or related areas.
- Experience supporting competitive end-to-end procurement processes, including developing requests for proposals and solicitation documents, supporting evaluations, and documenting procurement recommendations.
- Experience supporting procurement processes and preparing or reviewing contractual documentation.
- Experience with procurement systems, SAP or analytics tools is highly desirable.
The level of responsibility (Associate/Senior Associate) will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and credentials.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French or Portuguese is preferable.

Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
