About this position

We are looking for three highly motivated, results-driven, and client-oriented Corporate Procurement Specialists/Senior Specialists to coordinate procurement teams in the following specializations:

  1. Technology and Information Systems
  2. Consulting Firms
  3. Construction Services

As team coordinators, you will support and oversee the delivery of corporate procurement services across the IDB Group for these specializations. You will be expected to manage, monitor, and support hiring and contracting processes across one of the specializations including related procurement activities and the preparation and/or review of contractual documentation.

You will work in the Corporate Procurement Group, part of the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA) under the Vice Presidency for Finance and Administration. The specialization teams provide procurement and contracting services to Bank departments at Headquarters and Country Offices. In addition to hands‑on procurement responsibilities, these roles include day‑to‑day supervisory and coordination responsibilities, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery of procurement services. The Specialists/Senior Specialists contribute as a subject matter expert to the effective implementation of procurement processes and support the efficient, transparent, and value‑for‑money use of institutional resources.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee and coordinate corporate procurement activities for goods, services, and consulting firms with emphasis on the specializations aforementioned.
  • Provide technical guidance and day‑to‑day supervision to other employees, including task assignment, workload planning, review of outputs, and coaching to ensure timely delivery and service continuity.
  • Lead, conduct, and support end-to-end procurement and contract management for complex or higher-risk cases (Request for Proposals (RFPs), evaluations, contract drafting, negotiations, administration), ensuring compliance with contractual terms and appropriate documentation of procurement actions.
  • Review and validate supplier analyses, including cost and non‑price evaluations, to support sound procurement decisions.
  • Assess and manage risks regarding procurement activities including vendor and integrity risks and propose mitigation measures.
  • Oversee the collection, quality assurance, visualization, and strategic utilization of procurement data and documentation to support informed decision-making, enhance reporting and transparency, increase operational efficiency, and drive process improvements while encouraging a culture that values data analytics.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and senior point of contact for clients, fostering collaboration and providing solution-oriented strategic advice.
  • Oversee the deployment of AI tools to streamline procurement activities and enhance due diligence, among others.
  • Stay informed of procurement tools, systems, and good practices relevant to international organizations and support their consistent application across the team.

What you'll need

Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, Law, Economics, Project Management, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Certified Procurement Manager (C.P.M.) and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management (C.P.S.M.) is a plus.

Experience:

  • At least four (4) to five (5) years of relevant progressive experience in procurement, contract management, negotiations, sourcing, corporate services, or related areas.
  • Experience managing, monitoring, or supporting hiring and contracting processes across one or more of the following procurement categories including related procurement activities and the preparation or review of contractual documentation:
    • Technology and Information Systems
    • Consulting Firms
    • Construction Services,
  • Experience with procurement systems or analytics tools is highly desirable.

The level of responsibility (Specialist/Sr Specialist) will be determined based on the experience and candidates’ credentials.

Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French or Portuguese is preferable.

  • Supplier evaluation methodologies including non-price criteria
  • Procurement risk management
  • Strong procurement data analytics and visualization
  • Process improvement

Type of contract and duration

International Staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
