About this position
We are looking for a motivated and innovative Corporate Services Consultant. You will work in the Access to Information Section (SEC/ATI), which is part of the Office of the Secretary (SEC) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). This team is responsible for coordinating the implementation and application of the Access to Information Policy (ATI Policy) of the Bank, and supporting the vice presidencies, departments, and units in the classification of information.
As a Corporate Services Consultant for the SEC/ATI team you will contribute to the IDB staff training and development to ensure proper understanding and application of the ATI Policy. In this regard, you will participate in the design and definition of contents and materials of the training programs that SEC/ATI conducts with Bank staff, especially related to the New ATI Policy and its implementation guidelines. Also, you will support the coordination to resolve any new ATI Policy implementation issues to strengthening coordination with the Bank's various units and departments.
What you’ll do
- Contribute to Bank staff training and development to ensure proper understanding and application of the ATI Policy. In this regard, contribute to action plans for the Bank's Access to Information/transparency initiatives, with the Bank's internal and external stakeholders, including civil society organizations and other regional, multilateral and international financial institutions.
- Coordinate activities with the Bank's internal stakeholders to strengthen the coordination of tasks for SEC/ATI's implementation of the ATI Policy.
- Support to resolve any new ATI Policy implementation issues with a view to strengthening coordination with the Bank's various units and departments. In this regard, contribute to the analysis and support of the requests for information and proactive disclosure procedures.
- Support SEC/ATI in its work to support SEC in its capacity as Technical Secretariat of the Access to Information Committee (AIC) and the External Review Panel.
- Participate in the preparation and drafting of the ATI Policy reports and presentations to the Board of Executive Directors and AIC.
- Provide drafting for the ATI Policy procedures and protocols for the application of the ATI Policy standards for use by the Bank’s staff.
What you'll need
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in social sciences, journalism, communications, and/or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: At least 3 years of progressive experience in multilateral development organizations or public sector experience in one of our 48-member countries will be valued. Preference will be given to knowledge related to access to information and transparency policies or frameworks.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
