We improve lives

The IDB Group is a community of diverse, versatile, and passionate people who come together on a journey to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our people find purpose and do what they love in an inclusive, collaborative, agile, and rewarding environment.

About this position

The Communications Division (DCC) within the External Affairs and Communications Department (EXC) is looking for an Analytics Senior Associate – Marketing Communications & Data to strengthen its social listening, digital intelligence, and communications analytics capabilities and inform strategic marketing, communications, and digital engagement across the IDB Group.

With social listening at its core, the role will transform social, digital, and media data into actionable insights on audiences, stakeholder conversations, emerging narratives, trends, and reputational issues. Working closely with DCC teams and internal clients, the successful candidate will translate business and communications objectives into analytical approaches and recommendations that inform audience targeting and segmentation, content and campaign planning, reputation management, digital engagement, and institutional decision-making—moving beyond monitoring and reporting to support strategy and action.

The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with sound communications and marketing judgment, a solid understanding of digital audience engagement, and effective data storytelling and stakeholder-management skills. They should be comfortable designing and refining social listening queries, analyzing complex datasets, validating metrics, and identifying meaningful patterns, while engaging with internal clients and translating findings into clear, practical recommendations aligned with their objectives.

What you’ll do

•    Support social listening, audience intelligence, and digital analyses around IDB Group brands, sectors, countries, projects, executives, stakeholders, priority topics, and institutional moments.
•    Work directly with internal clients, sectors, country teams, and communications teams to understand their business, marketing, communications and audience-engagement objectives and translate them into social listening questions, analytical frameworks, queries, KPIs, and reporting approaches.
•    Monitor and analyze social, digital, and traditional media data to identify emerging trends, narratives, audience behaviors, stakeholder conversations, reputational issues, risks, opportunities, engagement patterns, and shifts in institutional positioning.
•    Translate social listening data and technical findings into clear, actionable marketing and communications, and digital engagement insights and recommendations, helping teams make decisions around audience targeting and segmentation, positioning, messaging, content strategy, channel selection, campaigns, and reputation management.
•    Support the development of executive-level reports, presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations that make complex information accessible and clearly explain what is happening, why it matters, and what actions should be considered.
•    Use social listening, audience intelligence, and digital intelligence to support marketing communications planning and measurements, including campaign development, audience strategy, institutional positioning, content planning, digital engagement, major events, announcements, and other priority moments.
•    Conduct quality assurance and governance of social listening and media monitoring data, and related audience and communications data, validating queries, sources, metrics, calculations, classifications, benchmarks, and analytical findings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and methodological rigor.
•    Help define appropriate KPIs, benchmarks, and measurement frameworks that connect social listening, audience engagement, campaign, and communications metrics to broader marketing, communications, digital engagement, and institutional objectives.
•    Conduct audience, stakeholder, influencer, and conversation mapping to support marketing communications and digital engagement strategies and identify relevant communities, voices, and inform audience segmentation and amplification opportunities.
•    Identify gaps in existing social listening and audience intelligence data, tools, queries, methodologies, measurement framework, and analytical processes and recommend practical improvements to strengthen DCC’s communications intelligence, digital analytics, and measurement capabilities.
•    Apply advanced analytical approaches where relevant, including audience segmentation, influencer analysis, network analysis, topic analysis, comparative analysis, and trend identification.
•    Partners with colleagues responsible for digital communications, marketing communications, email marketing, CRM, and digital engagement to connect social listening and audience insights with campaign, channel, and engagement data and identify opportunities to improve communications effectiveness.
•    Provide technical and strategic guidance to colleagues, consultants, and vendors working on social listening, media monitoring, audience intelligence, marketing, communications and digital analytics, measurement, reporting, and related products.
•    Support real-time and rapid-response social listening around major events, institutional priorities, emerging issues, and reputational risks.
