About this position
We are looking for a motivated, experienced, and creative consultant. As an economic research consultant, you will manage datasets, conduct data analysis, display results in tables and figures, and contribute to the preparation of publications.
You will work in the Research department. This team is responsible for generating innovative ideas that support the strategic policy agenda of the IDB and its member countries and publishing research in academic journals.
What you’ll do
- Manage numerous datasets and codes for a quantitative research project.
- Write codes to conduct data cleaning, merging, and data analysis and to display results in figures and tables.
- Develop and pursue innovative new direction for analysis.
- Conduct literature reviews.
- Support the preparation of research publications.
- Work in close collaboration with other team members.
What you'll need
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, public policy, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Master’s preferred.
• Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in research, data analysis, and data management.
• Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

• Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
