About this position
The consultant will support the Green Coalition of Public Development Banks in implementing its communications strategy. The role focuses on increasing visibility of the Coalition’s work, particularly its Action Plan, in the lead-up to COP30 in Belém, Brazil. Key tasks include strategic content creation, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination of deliverables to regional and international audiences using social media platforms, the Green Coalition website among others.
We are looking for a strategic, proactive, and collaborative Green Coalition Communications Consultant. As Communications Consultant, you will co-develop and execute/implement the GC communication strategy to enhance the visibility of the Green Coalition’s work, support the dissemination of key deliverables, and engage stakeholders in the lead-up to COP30, in coordination with the broader team and partner institutions.
You will work in the Connectivity, Markets, and Finance Division (CMF), part of the Institutions for Development Sector (IFD). This team is responsible for assisting member countries to overcome the financing barriers for productivity, low-carbon and climate resilient development through financial and capital markets. Areas of work include financial inclusion, financial and fiscal risk management, financial transparency, housing finance, public debt management, green finance, among others.
What you’ll do
As part of this consultancy, the Communications Consultant will be responsible for the following key activities:
- Design and implement a strategic communication plan to showcase the Green Coalition’s work and impact.
- Define the number, format, and frequency of communication products such as articles, posts, and podcasts to showcase through different channels.
- Coordinate with the IDB (Technical Secretariat and GC member) and Green Coalition members to source relevant insights and contributions, also produced by the Green Coalition workstreams.
- Support the design of key technical meetings and events that the Green Coalition will hold at COP30.
- Maintain regular engagement with member institutions to develop high-quality, aligned content.
- Curate, develop and support the production of written and multimedia materials across platforms.
- Manage the development and dissemination of content via blogs, interviews, social media and podcasts.
- Ensure all communication outputs reflect the Coalition’s goals, priorities, and strategic messages, as well as the technical content that is being produced by the current Action Plan's 4 workstreams,
- Engage with communications and technical teams to support digital content organization and visibility.
- Promote the Coalition’s activities to key external audiences, including investors and climate finance actors.
- Contribute to positioning the Coalition as a trusted, transparent actor in sustainable development finance.
What you'll need
• Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Communications, International Relations, Journalism, Political Science, Development Studies, or other relevant fields.
• Experience: Between 7 and 9 years of progressive experience in communication, including content development and dissemination, preferably with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean and within the context of international development agencies
• Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
