About this position

We are looking for a dedicated, collaborative, and forward-thinking Information Technology Architect Consultant  to join the Architecture Team within the Information Technology and Analytics Department (ITA). In this role, you will contribute to shaping and executing IDB Invest’s Enterprise Architecture practice, ensuring that technology initiatives are aligned with institutional strategy, business priorities, and the organization’s digital transformation roadmap.

You will play a critical role in designing target-state architecture, guiding solution design, and enabling scalability, security, and efficiency across front, middle, and back-office operations. Your work will support the technology strategy, leveraging expertise in cloud ecosystems such as Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, and low-code/no-code platforms.

The Information Technology and Analytics (ITA) Architecture Consultant will report to the Information Technology Architecture Senior Officer.

 

What you’ll do

  • Support the adoption and integration of low-code, asset-light, and commercial off- the-shelf solutions, helping the organization scale technology delivery efficiently, securely, and in compliance with performance standards.

 

  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical leads to design and implement solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, data governance, and institutional standards.

 

  • Design, review, and maintain architecture diagrams, system flows, and integration models, guiding the secure and efficient use of APIs, middleware, and cloud services.

 

  • Define and enforce architecture standards, development best practices, and technical governance to ensure high-quality, resilient, and maintainable solutions.

 

  • Design, document, and implement architecture guardrails (e.g., standards enforcement, integration patterns, security baseline alignment) for each product line, aligned with enterprise standards and reference architectures.

 

  • Act as a bridge between business units, IT teams, and external vendors, ensuring alignment of technical solutions across front, middle, and back-office functions, including risk, legal, and impact areas.

 

  • Provide architectural oversight and contribute to the planning, execution, and monitoring of digital transformation initiatives, ensuring consistency with the IT Roadmap and institutional priorities.

 

  • Conduct technical reviews and solution validations to confirm compliance with enterprise architecture guidelines, scalability needs, and strategic objectives.

 

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation (business requirements, architecture blueprints, integration specifications, process maps, and internal controls).

 

  • Support the organization’s cloud-first and SaaS adoption strategy, ensuring interoperability, operational resilience, and long-term sustainability.

What you'll need

•    Education: Master’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. 

•    Experience:  At least 5 years of progressive experience in IT solution design, cloud-based systems implementation (SaaS and PaaS), business analysis, and digital transformation initiatives. Experience working across business and technical teams, with exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Salesforce, low-code/no-code tools, and enterprise system integrations through APIs. Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and architecture solutions, while supporting project delivery, process mapping, workflow analysis, vendor coordination, database administration, and IT service management activities. 

•    Languages:  Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

•   International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 48 months, if applicable).
