About this position

The IDB INVEST, a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, is a multilateral organization based in Washington, D.C., that is committed to the development of Latin America and the Caribbean through the private sector.  
IDB INVEST is looking for a technical and business expert to develop, support, and assist in executing new initiatives within technology.  The role will work with banking operations to support our treasury systems. The individual will work with a dynamic group of technologists, operations, finance, and business divisions of the bank. 

What you’ll do

  • Provide end user functional and technical support for back-office applications.
  • Investigate root causes and resolve back-office application errors, and performance issues reported by users. 
  • Reproduce issues encountered in system monitoring or reported by users in test environments, documenting the steps to identify the bugs or misconfiguration. 
  • Provide guidance and troubleshoot back-office functionalities, features, or custom-built solutions within applications. 
  • Collaborate with IT teams to diagnose and resolve bugs in custom applications, ensuring smooth information flow between upstream and downstream systems.
  • Leverage ticketing systems to track and manage support requests, ensuring detailed documentation and prompt follow-up for efficient issue resolution.
  • Develop SQL scripts, and other query tools for reporting and data manipulation.
  • Assist in System upgrade projects, including testing retrofitting customizations, testing critical functionalities, and ensuring system stability post-upgrade. 
  • Conduct unit tests on the Back Office side and ensure data is accurately sent and received from Azure.
  • Create comprehensive documentation of the integration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

What you'll need

•    Education:  You hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, engineering, or business, with at least 2 years of meaningful experience in Accounting, Banking, Finance and Computer Science or working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). Master’s degree is a plus.

 

•    Experience:

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience directly supporting ERP systems in roles like ERP support analyst, ERP administrator, or ERP consultant.
  • Experience in IT operations, system or business analysis, with a focus on understanding business processes and translating them into system requirements.
  • Experience with Oracle databases and system architecture, as well as basic programming or scripting.
  • Strong experience in mapping business processes and designing data flow interfaces between the ERP system and other applications.
  • Strong knowledge of integration architecture, particularly with Microsoft Azure services such as API Management, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Functions. 
  • Basic Understanding on Portfolio Analysis, Investment Management, Debt Management, or market, liquidity, capital, and interest rate risks.
  • Basic Knowledge on Risk management platforms or portfolio analysis tools.
  • Proven ability to design and implement secure, efficient, and accurate data flow between Back Office systems and Azure platforms. 
  • Expertise in configuring REST APIs, and treasury components for seamless Azure integration. 
  • In-depth understanding of security protocols such as OAuth, SAML, or Azure Active Directory, with the ability to implement them to secure integration processes. 
  • Experience in planning and executing the deployment of integration components, including coordinating downtimes and minimizing impact on business operations. 
  • Ability to engage with third-party vendors, managing external tools or services involved in the corporate process.  
  • Familiarity with Service Now, Jira, Confluence, Git and Bitbucket.

•    Languages: Fluent in English. Spanish/Portuguese is a plus.

•    Citizenship: No requirements.

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

International consultant: Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
