About this position
We are looking for a self-motivated, innovative data engineer, cloud data savvy, customer oriented and great teammate. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for cloud data operations including data pipelines, transformation, data virtualization, advancing analytics governance, data quality, and taking security as a first approach for all activities.
You will work in the Technology and Data Solutions Division, which is part of the Technology and Transformation Department (TTD). The team is responsible for crafting and handling data management operations, platforms and solutions supporting the business of the Bank.
What you’ll do
- Guide in all areas of Data Management: You will partner with product teams to architect, collaborate, influence, and communicate data analytics solution and cloud technology to various development and infrastructure teams across the organization.
- Responsible for definition of the data architecture, data integrations and data processes related to the internal production and publication of open data sets.
- Define and execute new strategies to improve the way the data is shared and used among sectors and key areas of the organization, and the way it is maintained and consumed by them to produce open data assets.
- Design and implement frameworks to support the continuous integrations of new initiatives and solutions to the umbrella of sectorial and open data.
- Act as technical responsible for the Geospatial Analytics and Open Data strategy, platform and processes in collaboration with the different groups from the Vice presidency for Sectors.
- Work in collaboration with the sectors and departments to implement data governance standards, promote the use of existing technologies and processes to facilitate the analysis of data and publication of new open data sets.
- Collaborate with the analytical groups serving as a bridge between the origin of the data and the final product delivery and support team.
- Provide guidance and feedback on Data Governance aspects of the data, and align with the business owners of the information to implement better solutions from the technical and business perspective.
- Work in close collaboration with the Data Management, Governance and Enterprise Architecture team to define and implement standards and best practices for DataOps.
What you'll need
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Certifications on cloud platforms and technologies, such as AWS or Azure are a plus. Data warehouse, data pipeline and integration certifications are preferred. Python based analytics certifications are also a plus.
Experience:
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments architecting, implementing, and supporting data and analytics solutions. Knowledge of cloud operations and deployments is a plus.
Understanding of the complete DataOps framework. - Experience working with tools like Arc GIS, Socrata, CKAN.
- Knowledge about the use and implementation of corporate taxonomies and ontologies, and use of standards like DCAT is a plus.
- Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as (Python, R, JS) for data analysis.
- Experience in new and innovative solutions for analytics and data processing including artificial intelligence implementation, machine learning models, text analysis and forecasting/predictive models.
- Technical skills in data architecture and multi-platform integrations using cloud solutions and services for data availability and analytics.
- Proficient in building different types of data repository solutions for analytics, including traditional data warehouse models, real-time and near real-time data lakes, file storage, and shared repositories with enterprise-wide purposes.
- Preferred experience working with enterprise data catalog solutions, data virtualization tools and data as a service strategy.
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, data profiling and data quality solutions design and implementation.
- Knowledge and experience on open data frameworks and technologies is a plus.
- Preferred experience working on data privacy, master data management initiatives.
- Proficient in project management including development team coordination, activities planning, issues resolution, project monitoring and reporting.
- Experience working with SQL and non-SQL types of cloud databases, query and scripting, modeling, and objects optimization.
Languages: Fluency in English. Proficiency in any other official Bank language (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) highly desired.

Type of contract and duration
- International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
