About this position
The Operations Specialist will play a strategic and operational role in supporting the Manager of EXC, driving the department’s vision and priorities forward. This position will also serve as a key liaison between EXC and the Office of the President, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment on the President’s external activities.
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented professional who excels in stakeholder engagement, strategic coordination, and external communications.
What you’ll do
Support Department Operations
- Assist the Manager in implementing EXC’s structure, integrating external affairs and communications functions for a cohesive delivery.
- Develop and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and ensure the effective execution of the department’s activities.
Coordinate with the Office of the President
- Serve as a liaison between EXC and the Office of the President, ensuring alignment on the President’s external engagements, including events, missions, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate the preparation of agendas, briefings, and talking points for the President’s engagements, collaborating closely with relevant teams.
Support External Engagements
- Prioritize and plan external engagement activities to strengthen relationships with stakeholders, including civil society, think tanks, and academia.
- Review and strategically prioritize event invitations for the President, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and maximizing impact.
- Oversee logistics and content development for key events and missions, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with institutional priorities.
Enhance Communication and Outreach
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and the implementation of impactful communication strategies.
- Utilize tools such as CRM to manage stakeholders, enhance communication workflows, and execute targeted outreach campaigns.
What you'll need
- Education: Master's Degree (or equivalent) in international relations, public affairs, communications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 four years of relevant experience, preferably within a multilateral institution or international organization.

- Familiarity with CRM tools and communication workflows to enhance efficiency and engagement.
- Proven experience engaging with high-level stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and international partners.
- Strong ability to interact effectively with diverse internal and external clients in a multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated experience in event planning, stakeholder engagement, and external communication.
- Strong ability to coordinate complex activities and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Languages: Proficiency in English is required. Additional knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese or French is preferable.
Requirements
• Citizenship: you are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
