About this position

The Innovation and Business Transformation Division (TTD/IBT) of the Technology and Transformation Department (TTD/TTD) is looking for a talented professional at the intersection of the communication and technology fields for a consultancy position. The main objectives of this position are first to provide support in communications and dissemination of innovation projects, and second, to support internal and external crowdsourcing initiatives.

What you'll need

•    Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Communications, Marketing, Public Policy, International Development or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  

•    Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience working at the intersection of technology and communications  

•    Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

What you’ll do

 

  1. Developer Network Management   Lead the enhancement and expansion of the C4D Developer’s Network, focusing on increasing membership and engagement—especially among public sector developers.
  2. Open-Source Adoption Support   Provide hands-on guidance to sectoral teams and government partners in identifying, customizing, and implementing open-source solutions aligned with public sector needs.
  3. Knowledge Product Development   Co-author high-impact blogs, technical notes, and reports addressing cross-cutting challenges in open-source governance, sustainability, procurement, and policy.
  4. Strategic Communications & Outreach   Design and execute targeted communication strategies to broaden reach, monitor engagement metrics, and adapt campaigns for greater impact.
  5. Content Creation & Visual Design   Produce engaging written and visual content—including banners, email campaigns, and video bumpers—to support community interaction and marketing efforts.
  6. Event Coordination   Spearhead the planning and execution of C4D events, including logistics, speaker coordination, and promotional materials. Edit and publish event recordings for IDB’s digital channels.
  7. Case Study Documentation   Capture and share implementation insights and success stories that highlight the reuse and adaptation of open-source tools across the region.
  8. External Crowdsourcing Initiatives   Coordinate the design, launch, and dissemination of open calls for proposals in collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Manage evaluation and selection processes.
  9. Internal Innovation Challenges   Organize ideation marathons and challenges to gather innovative ideas from IDB staff, informing strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
  10. Platform Management & Insight Generation   Oversee the Bright idea platform and other innovation databases. Analyze submissions to identify trends, build a pipeline of solutions, and connect needs with offerings across the IDB Group.
