About this position

We are looking for a creative, innovative, and versatile Marketing and Event Support Consultant with a strong strategic focus and exceptional attention to detail. As Marketing and Event Support Consultant, you will help our team market our knowledge products to broad audiences in Latin America and beyond, as well as organize events with economists and policymakers from across the region.

You will work as part of the dissemination team of the IDB Research Department (RES). RES generates new ideas to help enrich the knowledge base that supports the policy agenda of the IDB and its member countries for achieving sustainable and equitable development in the region. As part of our team, you will help further the impact of RES research through the creation and positioning of knowledge products and events geared to key audiences in government, academia, think tanks, and other related fields.

What you’ll do

  • Support the dissemination and promotion of RES’s more than 75 annual events and propose innovative ways to enhance their impact and reach.
  • Support in developing internal marketing content, including written and visual materials.
  • Assist in the organization and on-site logistics of events.
  • Collaborate in administrative tasks surrounding p-card use and invoice tracking for event logistics.
  • Support in dissemination of publications to the region
  • Become proficient in IDB systems used for internal and external communications and publication processing and assist with related tasks as needed.
  • Gain a solid understanding of IDB’s communications planning, practices, and event systems, and participate in continuous improvement and training opportunities.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, digital media, marketing, public relations, journalism or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in marketing and event coordination.

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

If consultant (Local Remote Modality): The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank's office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank's Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank's office. Access to the Bank's systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.

Type of contract and duration
