About this position

Enhancing our institutional communicational capacity and efforts in the Communications Division, is a business priority for the Inter-American Development Bank, to better position the brand, reputation, and the impact of the Institution’s work in the Region.

As part of its digital strategy, the Division seeks a skilled Web Editor to manage and optimize content across IDB’s web platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency, accessibility, and discoverability.

You will work with the digital and corporate communications teams and experts across the IDB as part of the Web Team within the Communications Division.

What you’ll do

The project team expects the following tasks:

  • The Web Editor will support the Communications Division in maintaining, editing, and optimizing web content that aligns with the IDB's strategic priorities, enhances user experience, and improves visibility through search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Edit, publish, and maintain content in four languages (primarily English, Spanish, with Portuguese and French as a plus) on the IDB's websites using the institutional content management system (CMS).
  • Review and publish web content, after editing for orthographic, grammar and formatting mistakes in English and Spanish, with Portuguese and Franch as a plus.
  • Review images and graphs in web pages ensuring they are of high quality, legible and properly formatted for web publishing.
  • Ensure all web content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the Bank's editorial and branding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with content creators, translators, designers, and technical teams to review content and ensure high-quality, multilingual content delivery.
  • Apply SEO best practices to improve the visibility and ranking of IDB content in search engines.
  • Conduct keyword research and implement title tags, H1 and H2 headings, metadata, alt text, and structured content to enhance search performance.
  • Assist in the migration of content during website redesigns or platform updates.

Special Deliverable Instructions:

  • Regularly updated and optimized web content aligned with IDB priorities.
  • Recommendations for content improvements based on analytics and SEO audits.
  • Documentation of content workflows and editorial guidelines as needed

What you'll need

  • Education: Master's degree in Liberal Arts, Communications or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in editing, publishing, content creation.
  • Languages:  Proficiency primarily in English, Spanish, with Portuguese and French as a plus.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

  • Type of contract: Products and External Services Consultant (PEC).
