About this position
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-driven Paralegal Consultant to provide legal-administrative and case-management support to a small team of attorneys. This position strengthens the operational backbone of the Office.
You will work in the Office of the Sanctions Officer. The Sanctions Officer is the first tier (first instance) of the IDB Group’s anti-corruption adjudicative system, which addresses allegations of corrupt, fraudulent, coercive, collusive, or obstructive practices and misappropriation (“Prohibited Practices”) in activities financed by the IDB Group.
What you’ll do
- Administer and maintain case management systems, document repositories, and archives, ensuring standardization, tracking, and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor deadlines, milestones, and procedural calendars.
- Support preparation of basic drafts, templates, and procedural communications.
- Coordinate document transmission, logistics, and translations.
- Support compilation of statistical and reporting inputs.
- Identify and support workflow and system improvements.
- Manage a comprehensive schedule for the office and assist with travel coordination.
- Draft internal and external non-case related correspondence for the Sanctions Officer.
- Assist with the maintenance of the website, draft and revise PowerPoint presentations, talking points, communication materials, and meeting minutes.
- Assist with organizing outreach events, and any other office support and tasks as needed.
What you'll need
Education: Associate degree in paralegal studies, administration, records management, legal operations, justice, criminology or related field.
Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant paralegal, case support, legal operations, records, or legal-administrative functions in legal offices, quasi-judicial bodies, law firms, administrative tribunals, international organizations, or comparable bilingual environments. Demonstrated experience in handling case files, document management, deadline control, and providing direct support to attorneys or decision-makers is required. Familiarity with case management systems, databases, document repositories, or equivalent platforms such as Salesforce is essential. Experience gained in multilateral organizations, public agencies, regulatory bodies, or units with formal decision-making processes will be especially valued.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).
