About this position

We need a dynamic and resourceful Prevention Consultant to join the Office of Ethics (ETH). As Prevention Consultant, you will support the work of ETH in answering employee consultations regarding the application of the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (Code of Ethics) The Prevention Consultant will also provide significant support with a variety of tasks related to the launch of the new Code of Ethics, as well as working as needed on other ETH activities, such as outreach, communications, and training.

ETH is responsible for providing impartial assistance to IDB Group employees and management in reviewing and resolving matters regarding ethics and conduct in the workplace to contribute to good governance and help to preserve and promote institutional integrity. ETH receives consultations and provides advice in response to requests for interpretation of the Codes of Ethics, manages the annual DoI exercises, receives misconduct allegations, and leads training initiatives to increase awareness on ethics and workplace conduct.

What you’ll do

  • Review, analyze, and draft replies to employee consultations and other matters regarding the interpretation and application of the IDB and IDB Invest Codes of Ethics.
  • Provide significant support in the development of Artificial Intelligence initiatives in the Prevention area to enhance efficiencies, timeliness, productivity, and research capabilities.  
  • Provide significant support with tasks related to the new Code of Ethics launch, implementation, and training.
  • Support other Prevention initiatives such as proactive sexual harassment prevention and training.
  • Research, compile, and analyze data and information relevant to the ETH's work, make recommendations for improvement, and collaborate making suggestions in benchmarking efforts focused on ethics/professional conduct topics.
  • Assist the team in its outreach and training activities, including but not limited to supporting production and data collection, following up on completion training rates, contributing to the development of training and communication products, and recommending improvements to its work and services.

What you'll need

  • Education: Master’s degree in law, criminal law, litigation, anti-corruption, international law, compliance, political sciences and/or ethics Choose an item. from an accredited University.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in law, business, ethics, or relevant field.   
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Soft Skills: Result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, strong communicator, self-motivated, eager to learn, and excellent time management event.

  • Technical skills: Institutional ethics, research, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. 
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

  • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
  • Length of contract: 18 months.
  • Work Location: On site.
