We improve lives
The IDB Group is a community of diverse, versatile, and passionate people who come together on a journey to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our people find purpose and do what they love in an inclusive, collaborative, agile, and rewarding environment.
About this position
The Gender and Diversity Division (SCL/GDI) and the Research Department (RES/RES) jointly lead the IDB Group’s Gender and Diversity Knowledge Initiative (GDLab). GDLab was created to expand the frontiers of knowledge on effective strategies to address gender and diversity challenges and to strengthen the region’s capacity to implement evidence-based solutions for more inclusive and equitable societies.
By generating and disseminating high-quality applied research, GDLab seeks to inform IDB Group operations, shape country strategies, and drive regional policy dialogues. The initiative contributes to enhancing policymaking capacity and supporting the Bank’s broader efforts to reduce inequalities, foster inclusive growth, and alleviate poverty across LAC. Through competitive calls for proposals, GDLab collaborates with researchers, the public and private sectors, and multilateral development banks (MDBs) to tackle critical knowledge gaps—particularly in areas where rigorous evidence remains scarce. To date, GDLab has launched nine research calls, funding more than 30 cutting edge studies.
