About this position
The IDB, through the Productivity, Trade and Innovation Sector (PTI) provides funding, technical assistance and knowledge products to support governments in key action areas such as: productive development, firm-level innovation, digital transformation, trade and investment facilitation, export promotion and investment attraction,public-private synergies, tourism, rural development, and agriculture.
We are seeking a results-driven professional to support PTI’s Manager's Office corporate functions, including budget planning, execution and monitoring, as well as workforce planning and recruitment. The role also provides cross-functional corporate support to PTI’s divisions and units, ensuring alignment with the Sector’s work program and institutional processes. Additionally, the selected candidate will support data-driven initiatives to enhance decision-making through analytics, dashboard development and implementation, strategic reporting, and the digitalization of internal administrative workflows.
What you’ll do
- Support PTI’s annual administrative budget cycle, including budget formulation, execution and monitoring, and the management of standalone and transactional budgets, ensuring alignment with PTI priorities, its work plan, and the Bank’s institutional strategy.
- Recommend, develop, and implement data‑driven tools and solutions—such as dashboards, reports and concise analytical summaries—to monitor budget trends, identify risks and deviations, and prepare timely analytical inputs to support managerial decision‑making.
- Support workforce planning and HR administrative processes, including onboarding and offboarding, staffing actions, and coordination with corporate HR to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.

Support administrative processes related to procurement, contracts, and payments, providing guidance on relevant corporate policies, systems, and controls to ensure timely and compliant execution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of business processes and workflows through simplification, standardization, automation, and documentation to strengthen transparency, continuity, and service quality within PTI.
What you'll need
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years (preferably four [4]) of professional experience, including at least two (2) years in resource planning and administration roles, with demonstrated experience in budget management and human resources functions.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
