About this position
We are looking for a skilled, proactive, and detail-oriented Senior IT Systems & Cloud Solutions Associate. As IT Senior Associate, you will design, develop, and maintain robust information systems, ensure seamless integration of digital solutions, enhance system performance, and provide technical support to optimize business processes across the Office of the Secretary and its key stakeholders.
You will work in the Information Systems and Digital Innovation section (SEC/ISD), part of the Office of the Secretary (SEC) department. This team designs, develops, and maintains information systems supporting the business processes of all the sections within the Office of the Secretary and its main clients, as well as the information systems used during the Annual Meetings of the IDB and IDB Invest Boards of Governors, and manages and maintains the required technology infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Lead the design, modernization, and operation of business‑critical information systems supporting SEC operations and the Annual Meetings.
- Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead moderate‑complexity IT initiatives from planning through implementation, managing scope, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Oversee cloud and on‑premise environments (Azure, AWS, networking, servers), including configuration, optimization, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Define and promote best practices in software development, CI/CD, cloud architecture, automation, and infrastructure management.
- Serve as the technical lead for infrastructure planning and execution during Annual Meetings and other major institutional events.
- Ensure compliance with institutional security policies, data governance standards, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures to improve system reliability and performance.
- Advise internal stakeholders on technology options, innovations, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Provide technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge transfer to support junior staff and ensure continuity of systems.
What you'll need
- Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
- Experience: At least 3 years (5 preferred) of progressively responsible experience in information technology, with demonstrated involvement in systems design, cloud environments, and application or infrastructure modernization.
- The ideal candidate will have:
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), including infrastructure and service design.
- Proven expertise in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, MongoDB, and secure data management.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, connectivity).
- Experience designing scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.
- Familiarity with IT governance, change management, and compliance frameworks.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
