About this position
A consultant is sought to support the development of diagnostics, documents and analytical tools, generation of evidence and best practices in the region's PPPs, and technical assistance to the countries of the region in upstream PPPs. Likewise, the consultant will assist in the organization and coordination of the different upstream analysis and technical assistance initiatives of the Team. The consultant must have analytical and statistical skills, as well as experience in the development of analytical reports, economic analysis, and/or knowledge products in infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Support in regional diagnostic exercises, at the country level in Latin America and the Caribbean (external - publications, internal - strategic documents), and at the sectoral level (economic and social infrastructure sectors) in the field of PPPs.
- Support in the upstream technical assistance of the PPP team to the countries of the Region (review of PPP regulatory and institutional frameworks, diagnoses of investment cycles, project planning and prioritization exercises, supervision, monitoring and performance, among others).
- Support in the management and development of PPP knowledge products (developed in the context of the PPP Network of Analysis and Best Practices in of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as additional topics identified by the Bank), with potential for publication as IDB technical notes, monographs, or working and research papers.
- Preparation of publications, and statistical and econometric analyses, from literature review, collection and systematization of information, selection of research methods and modeling, to the development of estimates and analysis of results.
- Support in the generation of analytical inputs for the Team and Senior Management - development of presentations and talking points, among others.
- Support in the administrative and operational management tasks of the PPP team related to Upstream PPP activities (related to the budget, activity reporting, monitoring of internal processes and protocols of the Bank, or support in the preparation of technical cooperation, among others).
What you'll need
- Education: Master's degree in the field of Economics, Statistics, Public Policy or related areas.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in statistical analysis, research, and publication in the area of infrastructure economics or related.
- Languages: Excellent command of English and Spanish, oral and written.
- Advanced knowledge of information generation and collection techniques, systematic literature review, database construction, statistical and econometric methods, analysis of results and preparation of reports.
- Results management. Contribute to development impact by focusing efforts on clear and measurable outcomes, identifying specific areas of impact and relevant metrics.
- Collaboration, teamwork, and inclusion. Works collaboratively with others, regardless of their background (gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, experience, and perspective) or their role in the organization and focuses on teamwork and inclusion in projects.

Requirements
